Summerdays vol1 ch5 p00 Cover by AngieVX Summerdays vol1 ch5 p00 Cover by AngieVX
:star: READ FROM RIGHT TO LEFT!!!

It's the same as [link] for those who are lazy to read XD (I'm the first actually)

This one went wrong from he very beginning, Angie's face is just wrong, Angelica's eye color is actually amber.
Anyway, I'd like to thank dear :iconladyfanhir: for helping me with Angelica's eye color *sorry, you can't see it here properly ^^; * and for you inspiring stories about markets, your city and a lake of butterflies.

I know there's A LOT of mistakes here - but it's just one of those pictures that went wrong from the very beginning. I just hope you don't notice them or like it despite them! :XD::love:

Aww! Thank you! When I started drawing it I thought "What a great idea!", but then I started hating my decision because I could draw something more simple... and it would be much quicker :XD: So thank you very much again! And I used a lot of references here (only like 5 for the zebras)!

Thank you! Yep, this chapter is much lighter and I hope funier than the previous one. I like contrast in mood. Also there will be some references. Also the decorations of merry-go-roud are not random.

No problem Vera especially since you're not really acquainted with merry-go-rounds. So more power to you. :nod: And you're probably the only one that actually sees mistakes. You'll always be your worst critic. :tighthug:

Anyway... What's media you use? Oil and watercolors? :meow:

Ink, watercolors and acrylic finish. You can't draw with oil on simple paper, especially together with watercolor. It's like alcohol based and water based markers - don't mix.

Uh uh uh... But I have the secret to mix the marker with alchool and water based... :evillaugh:
Mixed media rulex! :la:
So, you use color ink? I never use colored ink... I think I use they a lot of years ago, at school, but I immediately hate they.. :XD:
Coff coff.... I totally understand.. :aww:
Anyway, I find that Fabriano F2 paper is really cool for use watercolors, also if is a thin paper and different cut than watercolor paper... But, I say this because in truth, in this time I love the effect that Fabriano paper give to my work, lol... ^^;

Nope, black ink.
Fabriano paper - the one that you use for "Along came a spider" and "Dreamy Amethyst"?
I used markers on glossy paper and they gave a weird effect together. :XD: Like water and oil. I think if used on a paper that absorbs water better - this effect can be minimal. By the way - what is the secret? :flirty:
I usually use another type of paper... but I thught that with this paper it would create "markers" effect - but in reality it turned out just dull. ^^;

:iconfanhir:
Fanhir Featured By Owner Mar 26, 2011  Professional Traditional Artist
Yes, for they! :meow:
I always hate Fabriano, but because I was used tria markers, and these tools aren't right for fabriano paper... so, only in this time I try it... Wow... I love the effect! :la:

What?! Glossy paper for marker?! :O
W-wow... I never look it.... But... sounds cool! :la: :D
For markers, I always used normal paper for, ehm, photocopies.. :rofl:
But, for they, a perfect paper is the Letraset paper. Is a type of paper perfect for markers because don't absord and consume too much the ink of marker, and make a very nice effect.
The only problem is veeeery thin. does not break, but for those accustomed to working on thick paper, at first glance is very strange.. :XD:
I image in your region don't find Letraset paper (well, is hard for find tria makers, I can image for the paper... Isn't expensive, but also here is very hard to find, lol), so, in a future package, I can send to you some paper... :aww:
Just because I don't use now they from a looooooooooooooooooooooot of time, so no problem, and, for me, is a very pity to don't use and abandoned at their destiny, lol... ^^; So, I will happy if you will give to they a reason of life, eh eh! :XD:

Aahahahaha... The secret?
Ehhhhhhhhhh..... Cause from my job... You know, I use a lot of acids, and, one day I found an ingredient of a smelly acid that mix and melt the ink of markers.
Because, there is a "Blender" pantone that make this effect, but not too much powerful for mix.... With experiments I found a type of acid perfect for to make that watercolors effect that you see in my work with tria makers... :aww:
But.. Is really smelly, and I never use it in my bedroom, where I draw, because is tossic... My sister kill me qhen I use it for the first time in bedroom... In truth, I love the smell, but for who isn't abitude with tria markers smell, is very tossic, lol! ^^;
That's all...
Ehm... I cannot send to you it because the acid is only for professional use, and I think will are problems if I send or simply take around with it... ^^;

Noo, I'm afraid of acids... and I have this ability to spill everything - so it's not for me :XD::fear:
As for paper - we don't have a big choice of paper but it's really cheap here - like 0,06$-0,1$ per sheet *though it's almost the only thing that is cheep here - because our country exports wood*.
Glossy paper *or better say semi-glossy because it's not as glossy as photo-paper, more like paper in magazines but thicker* - no, it's not for markers - it's just a glossy paper. If you want I can send you a pack if I find it.

Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Veraaaa!!!!! I'm continue in love of your new work!
Looks a lot your improvements.. From the colors to... The details.. My gosh, thewre are a lot of details! :wow:
Merry-go-round isn't absolutely hard to draw, but you make it simply perfectly! :wow: :faint: You're a genius! :la:
I think Angie has the perfect face of a lovely-guy-with-a-misterious-past-and-character! :love:
His face is more shady than all the elements of the work, so we immediately look isn't a real happy guy that all thinking.
Angelica has an adorable kitty face, looolll! :meow: I like she!
Another point.... Finally we can see a Summerday piece in colors! :la: :love:

I'm so honoured that some things of me, from markets to Antona Lake inspired you, aww! :huggle:
Thank you! :heart:

Thank you! Though I drew Angie's smile wrong.
It took so much time :phew: - so I'm happy it's finally ready and submitted!
And yep, this work is inspired by your stories about markets - I always imagined that markets on weekends providing all types of goods and entertainment - I'm weird :rofl:
Also the butterflies have a second inspiration (it's a double inspired part - the lake is a visual part of inspiration) - but it's a secret for a while. Don't want to spoil an actual chapter page. :XD: P.s. a small spoiler - decorations of the merry-go-round are not random at all (but it's not connected with the story straight). :D
Actually Angelica should look more melancholic than Angie here and Angie should have a more relaxed look - but I spoiled his expression and pose.
I'm happy you like it! Actually the whole chapter is inspired by your stories about markets.

Noooooooo... In truth, I continue say that I love Angie's espression.. But, of course, you're the only that you can speak because is your story...
But I understand when you tell... I often don't like the espression of Fanhir, in some work, because I don't portrait she as a melancholy girl, but a Cold girl.... lol! ^^;

Eh eh.... You're not weird... You're fulllll of immagination! :huggle:
And, in real, in one market that I make with my sister (will make at 9th April, lol ), near my city.... Because is takes place in the driveway and walk in the park lake, there are few merry-go-rounds for children... :meow:
So.... When I look this your work, I immediately thinking of that place... :love:
And, now, when finally is coming the beauty season, is full of colorful animation, like your work! I double-love your work! :love: :meow:

Aahahaha... Thank you again!
Lol, there are a lot of funny stories about markets that I make... Especially for strange, weird and original people that we meet... :rofl:

No hurry, but I really curious to see your next panels! :huggle:

Cool, will you take some photos of that market?
The thing is that Angie is really happy - after all how can he be unhappy having Angelica by his side? Aah, I'm trying not to write a spoiler right now!

Awwwwwwww.... Angie looks so lovely with Angelica.... As you know.. I really love their relationship, like brothers! :meow:
Aahahah.. Don't worry... no spoiler, please!!!!
I love suspence, you know... :XD: :la: :eager:

Loooooooool.... Yes... Spring! :XD:
Usually, we don't make festival because aren't bad for our affairs.... People oviously love eat and laugh, and not thinking to see antique things at markets... We sell particlar object, anyway... :)
I say it because the weather.... Now it's a bit hot, and make markets isn't a sacrifice than on the winter...
I looooove winter, and I hate too much hot, but I'm also human, lol, and make markets in winter is really bad... _

Ohhhh... Yes! Of course, I will make some photos.... I wait for 9 april (in the second sunday of every month, we make that market near lake. "Angera" is the name of city)... And, eh eh... You know, is near the isle that I was send to you the photos via cd, remember? :meow:
Angera has also a very fantastic castle.... Every years I and my sister visit it because there is always a expositure of antique dolls (aaaaahhhhhh), but because now the castle is in sell, I hope to visit another day....
We love especially above all climb the tower and enjoy the view... I think to have some photos on pc.... Hmmm... I also will send to you these with the photos in the "future" market, lol! :meow:

Ahhhh.. I hope to don't take advantage, but, if you want, of course... Can you send me in future some photos of your country?
You know, I love your architecture, but I really wish to see at least in photo some beautiful place of your region! :meow: :huggle:
